Hiraki Sawa is a Japanese artist who uses lo-tech video animation to create poetic dreamscapes. His seminal film, Dwelling (2002), brought him to the attention of the international art world and since then he has gone on to have many international exhibitions, including the Chisenhale Gallery, London, Kiasma - Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki , The National Art Center Tokyo, ICA, London and Hirshhorn Museum, Washington. He is represented by the James Cohan Gallery, New York.

Parades and Processions: Here comes everybody is a group show at the Parasol unit featuring works by twelve internationally acclaimed artists who take their inspiration from the traditional meanings of ‘parades’ and ‘processions’, creating works that epitomise the social and political context of our time.
