Phil Coy was born in Gloucester in 1971. He grew up in the West Midlands, Sussex and Norfolk and now lives and works in London. He received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from Liverpool John Moores University in 1993 and a Post Diplôme from Ecole des Beaux arts de Nantes in 1995. In 2000 he completed an MA at The Slade school of Fine Art. Recent presentations include Whitechapel Art gallery; South London Gallery; Volt/USF Gallery Bergen, Norway; Artprojx Cinema, New York; and with Yuko Shiraishi at The Russian Club Gallery, London. In 2010 he was a recipient of a London Artists’ Film and Video Award.
