Biography

Samantha Moore is an animation director who works mainly with animated documentary. Following her post-graduate course at Central Saint Martins, she became an animator in residence as part of Channel 4’s AIR scheme, and from there got her first commission to make Glasgow Kiss, an oil on glass piece. She then went on to make Success with Sweet Peas (winner of a Melbourne International Film Festival audience award and nominated for a British Animation Award) and Doubled Up, the Animate commission for Channel 4 and Arts Council England. In 2007 she made The Beloved Ones through Netherlands-based Sapiens Productions for the UK Film Council and Screen WM, and she has recently been commissioned to make a film for the Wellcome Trust about synaesthesia based on her work with Dr Jamie Ward called An Eyeful of Sound (in production, expected completion date 2009). She is Senior Lecturer in Animation at the University of Wolverhampton and a member of The Black Country Centre for Art and Design Research and Experimentation (CADRE).
