A melancholy journey through a nebulous urban landscape. The film’s elliptic and fantastical progress along a universe parallel to the A13 trunk road takes place in the mind of a dying dog sniffing its way back to its birthplace in Barking.

Created from PalmPilot drawings made while walking along the A13 trunk road, the film presents the journey in the mind of a dog as it sniffs its way back to Barking. A road movie in a parallel universe, populated by ghost lorries in the night and suffused with the pathos of dying light. Sound by Joe Wilson of the Sneaker Pimps.

Technical information

A series of original drawings made with the artist’s PalmPilot, on location at the A13 trunk road. These are then layered and assembled through Photoshop and Image-Ready to produce a series of animated gifs that are in turn edited and overlaid via Final Cut Pro into a complete film.


Collaborator

Joe Wilson is a producer, musician and manager. He started his career with the band Sneaker Pimps, selling over 2 million records worldwide. He has subsequently worked as a producer and remixer with artists as diverse as Placebo, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Marylin Manson and Ian McCulloch, and with film directors such as Danny Boyle, Phillip Noyce and Wim Wenders. His music has been used in feature films such as A Life Less Ordinary, The Saint and Spawn.
