Apichatpong Weerasethakul's A Letter to Uncle Boonmee features in The view from elsewhere, an exhibition presented by the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation, in partnership with Queensland Art Gallery. The exhibition will next be shown at the Australian Cinematheque from 7 October to 1 November.

The view from elsewhere is a cinema-based exhibition of digital feature film, documentary, shorts, experimental film and video art, and showcases works that address particular aesthetic, social and political contexts, while extending the possibilities of cinematic and artistic expression. Artists and filmmakers include Sasithorn Ariyavicha, Soon-mi Yoo, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Abbas Kiarostami, Ranu Ghosh, Amos Gitaï, Hu Jie, Jocelyne Saab and Wang Jianwei.

The exhibition and film screening programme is curated by Kathryn Weir, Head of International Art and the Australian Cinémathèque, Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, in collaboration with Mark Nash, Head of Department, Contemporary Art, Royal College of Art, London.
