Sophie Clements
Sophie Clements studied at the Royal College of Art. Her work occupies a space between filmmaking, sculpture and sound, often employing ‘extended’ animation techniques to deconstruct and reconstruct time and material.
Solo exhibitions include Seoul Museum of Art, Korea, National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo, Norway, and The Harris Museum, Preston. Her collaborative work with composers or musicians has toured internationally, including the Royal Opera House, London, the Science Museum, London, Hamburg NDR, and PUNKT, Norway.
She won the Jerwood Moving Image Prize in 2008. She teaches at Central Saint Martins, London, and the Guildhall School of Music, and is artistic director of the MAP/making project (Music, Arts and Performance), a cross disciplinary project with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Central Saint Martins and Royal College of Art.
