Inspired by the unlikely plots of afternoon TV and Hitchcock’s Rebecca, Amnesia opens with our heroine discovering that her husband is Pierce Brosnan who gives her a mobile phone so that she will remember her past.
Inspired by the unlikely plots of afternoon TV and Hollywood melodramas, with a special homage to Hitchcock’s Rebecca, Amnesia opens with our heroine waking up in a beach house in Malibu. She soon discovers that her husband is Pierce Brosnan who gives her a mobile phone in the hope that she will remember her past. As she scrolls through phone movies of people, pets and places she is also reminded of the Cornish coastline and increasingly mystified by the further manifestations of other husbands until the reason for her memory loss becomes clear…
Technical information
Filmed with various low resolution phone cameras together with DVCam and HDV cameras. All footage was then edited together with Final Cut Pro in both 4:3 and 16:9 formats. Adobe After Effects was used for additional composited sections.
Most of the sound was the original sound recorded on location or on the phone cameras. This was mixed with additional sounds plus voice over.
