Synopsis
Love Brid is an animated postcard, a loving tribute to the timeless charms of the seaside, and a colourful rollercoaster ride through the coastal town of Bridlington (Brid) in North Yorkshire and its many unique attractions recorded on location over a few days in August 2009.
Love Brid has been made with a view to an online/iPhone context and is intended to be browsed interactively as a series of stills, or digital flipbook, as well as be seen as a linear animated film.
Technical information
Love Brid was constructed from still photographic sequences taken with a digital SLR camera, and sound which was recorded separately. With the exception of the images of the fisherman, none of the scenes were staged for the camera. The images were cropped and resized in Photoshop and brought into Adobe After Effects as a series of image sequences where the work was edited. The sound was edited in Audacity and brought together with the images in After Effects for the final render.
