Navigations is supported by a Wellcome Trust Arts Award and is a collaboration between Animate Projects, Paintings in Hospitals, and Professor Anthony Chalmers and his teams at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Beatson Institute for Cancer Research.

today today today reflects on illness, healing and dying. The project combines an animation, website, publication, print-work, and embroidery, realised as part of Finlay’s residency at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, Glasgow. The title is after a motto composed by John Ruskin. The animation gently repeats the word 'today' in different people's handwriting. It is accompanied by a blog and a booklet featuring poems written by Finlay during the course of his residency. Some hand-written poems were gifted to patients.
