The Interpreter is based on 22 Derbyshire Tarot cards, which were created by Okaku during a residency in Derby. Each card represents the artist’s own interpretation of the county's history, myths and legends.
The structure is based on the original tarot such as The Fool - to travel through 22 scenes and encountering various events.
Commissioned for Parts & Labour by Animate Projects, QUAD and D-LAB.
Showing at QUAD, Derby, from 27 November 2015 - 24 January 2016.
