Included in Parts & Labour, the second Animate OPEN, online from 1 April to 30 May 2016 only.
Created with the assistance of the Media Lab at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Metropolitan Triangle Garden uses scanned 3D models of the Met’s wide-ranging collection of sculpture, and manipulates them using Houdini, a procedural 3D animation tool. ‘After the simulation process the models are no longer sculptures, and the illusional image of computer data is broken—the animation becomes a performance of classical masterpieces and contemporary informational junk’.
