Biography

Rosie Pedlow is an artist filmmaker living and working in Essex and London. She originally studied animation at the International Film School Wales. Her work has two strands that make use of both animation and live action techniques. Some works are playful explorations of philosophical problems while others are more closely akin to documentary. She often collaborates with others, aiming to produce innovative work that pushes boundaries and crosses disciplines.

Her films and videos have received funding from Arts Council England, Film London's Artists’ Film and Video Awards, Channel 4, S4C and Sgrîn, Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network, BBC Radio 4 and Wellcome Trust. They have been nominated for, and won, prizes, including from SXSW Film Festival (USA, 2006), Ann Arbor Film Festival (USA, 2006), Hull International Short Film Festival (UK, 2006), Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Montreal (Canada, 2006), 25 FPS (Croatia, 2006).
